put it in my pocket

Been kinda absent lately with the posts.. Bunch of things going on as always, and the goal is to get this Reel done.  I want to thank my team for pulling through for Stablished Projects.  Goldenchyld + Baby Chloe is gettin super nice on the beat. Ash, thanks for pullin through last night. Chris & Memo, thanks for rockin those designs. Wish, thanks for gettin shit prepped and vibin with me. And Don, thanks for bouncing ideas with me, and being there bro.  I’m blessed to have such ill folks around me.

I’ve been in the cave lately.  And it feels good to see these ideas come to life.  A lot of the stuff on this reel, are just snippets of big ideas.  And they’re all epic in their own way, if explored further.  It’s an exciting time right now, cuz so many ideas are coming out.  And so much potential, with the things we want to work on, the people we want to work with, and the people that want to work with us.

From music videos, fashion look books, commercials, short films, t-shirts, posters, books, viral videos, artist development, photo shoots, painting….. the life of an artist can be so rewarding, because you can make your world and the projects you choose, what you want them to be.

Housin’ Authority :: Real Triple OG’s

Jul 15, 2009

If you’re a dancer, and you DON’T KNOW about Housing Authority, and you’ve never seen this clip..? Shame on you. Housin’ Authority, from Richmond CA, held it down many years ago, before this latest trend of hip-hop dancing even emerged.

This clip was originally off of a Style Elements video: “Strategic Monsters”, where Remind & Crumbs from SEC actually battle Housing Authority. Whats incredible about this battle, is that it was 2 completely different dance styles going at it with each other. Pure B-Boying versus Pure Hip Hop. This made a lasting impression in my memory of the Golden Era of Hip-Hop. At the time, this clip could have possibly ignited a lot of crews to surface. It definitely made an impact on mine.

Some Housin’ Authority members are Flii Styles, Rich & Tone who were behind David La Chapelle’s movie “Rize,” and of course Super Dave. They’ve been infamous for teaching the likes of Michael Jackson & Usher…

This video is circa 94-96.  I wish i could post the battle between the 2 groups.. but I guess you’ll have to cop the Strategic Monsters DVD, to witness the historic battle.

This shit kills me.  So much heat coming out right now.  This is starting to look like a Bangerz fan boy site, but it’s only because they’re that tightly knit with Stablished Projects.  Goldenchyld came through to wrap up a project with me for Finger Fader Funk and shed some light on the latest Bangerz endeavors.

So check out their DipDive site, download their beat and make a youtube video of you dancing.  You could win a spot on their upcoming music video feat. The Jabbawockeez, & get hooked up with a a killer beat.

Also.. Finger Fader Funk is the collaborative efforts of Goldenchyld, Dj Platurn (Oakland Faders) & Dj Teeko (Four One Funk).  You know you’ll see it/hear it here first.

turnit

Director Alastair Siddons from the UK directs “Turn it Loose,” a film about the b-boys perspective.  Surprisingly a native from the Bay Area is featured in the cast, B-Boy Roxrite.  But that shouldn’t be so surprising, because Roxrite has not only held down The Bay with his crew Renegades, but is one of the most polished b-boys in the region. Check out the tailer here.
