I’m not at all against SF… I got nothing but Love for the Bay… I just think that my circle of friends from SJ is insanely talented… But also.. its interesting to see how responses are elicited  through design.  For instance, some beautiful technical 3d rendering will get crickets, versus a typography design that simply makes a statement, like this.  As an artist, we’re always trying to create something that’s gonna wow someone…  And sometimes, you don’t even need to try that hard….

Nike found Stablished Projects, and asked for a series of illustrations of basketball icons: Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and Stephen Curry.  When I got the call, I was in disbelief for a little. I came home with a fat smile on my face and I knew it was time to show and prove, again.  It was an honor to take on the project, for such a respected brand.

The illustrations were printed on wood panels, and installed at the Footlocker/Nike House of Hoops store at Serramonte Mall, in Daly City.  I’ll follow up on the details later, but I hope you enjoy the artwork and the work ethic.

I was suppose to go up to SF tonite and grind it out with my brutha Ra (hang out and eat food all ridiculous like)! But the grinding has both of us wrapped up at the moment. Which is great news when you think about it. I hope you guys are staying focused..

The picture up top is my new found love for getting up early heading to a coffee shop and writting my thoughts, plans, motivations, and inspirations before tackling the 9-5. Sometimes I even get in some very amateur tagging sessions… if i can get my workout schedule to sink right.. its gonna be dangerous… Lets get there!

The Refresh of the grind. This journey to the top is a crazy one, but we going to the top. I dont always chime in on the Labs like I used to because my brother is doing such a fantasic job. (dont you agree?.. dont you agree?!.. sexual chocolate!!!.. lol!) I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the downloads of The Revenge of Dominique Wilkins.. if you have a copy you probably know your super cool.

I took time yesterday, evaluated what im doing with my time and what I think needs to be done. I need to go harder and dig deeper then I have ever dug to get to our dreams, but we are going to get there. With sooo many things on the list its a constant balancing act between grinds. So for those in the same boat (shout out to rah and the chef for jumping on that) take the time to hit the refresh button and lets go hard because getting there is the only thing left to do. so lets do it!

Down to the wire as ALWAYS when it comes to releasing mixtapes… but shit we made it! 408!.. Im ALWAYS  a lil nervous putting out musiq or anything for that matter.. and this time is NO different. I just want you ALL to know wether you like it or not a lot of passion, pain, joy and creativity went into this”mini” tape. We still are improving! so many people to thank  but I REALLY wanna thank all of you! You all make me a better person. man. artist. human being… Ratha Nou. my brother 4 life!.. this one is for us!.. Back in elementary school, my mom used to make calendars for me.. filled with a schedule of when i do chores, when i do homework, …. At the time i thought it was kind of a waste,.. but the habit grew on me.  here I am at 29, still figuring things out.  Now that the first quarter is done, i was thinking..Damn!.. there’s ONLY 9 months left.. For me, it feels good to step back, and look at the bigger picture, because i DEFINITELY get lost in the day to day,… and these days… minute to minute…
