Cinema 4D :: Locator Test
Locator Test from Ra on Vimeo.
Obviously inspired by Syndrome, this was a test in Cinema 4D, where I :
1. Setup a simple 3d scene & exported 2 null objects with an external compositing tag as ‘locators’.
2. Animated a spline to wrap around my soon to be comped in, keyed out, video footage.
3. Set ‘object buffers’ on my two 3d elements (floor & ribbon), so i could get mattes for comping
4. Render out the animation.
5. Import rendered out elements into After Effects
6. Use Locators to place video footage into 2.5D scene
7. Then use mattes to mask out the areas where the ribbon covers the video footage, to make it look like the ribbon is actually going behind the ladies.
8. Test successful!
